too snooty for you!

i'm willing to be snooty.
i'm wanting to be snooty.
i'm *waiting* to be snooty.

but, it seems like not all of us are destined to be so:

***,
Thanks for your interest. You seemed like a good guy. We ended up filling the room this weekend, however. Good luck with your search.
Thanks,

Hey ***,
Thanks so much for coming by the other night and having a few drinks with us. I wanted to let you know that although we had a really great time and think you're an awesome guy, we decided to go with another candidate that we felt was a better fit. Thanks so much for your interest and good luck with your search!

and so, the search continues...

the creek

so i finally finished the last season and am kind of peeved. andie deferred harvard for *one* year, not two. and since everyone was in boston for mostly the entire last season, it's really too bad that the cute and perky andie couldn't make any appearances save for the final episode--and even then only in the director's cut version.

bye bye MSN

after upgrading to the latest version of MSN, i just couldn't take it anymore. the stupid icons, the idiotic refusal to align to the top right of my desktop, the ever shrinking actual usable space within the window, and the increasingly annoying ads all played a part in the uninstalling of MSN on my computer. so, i may be on it from time to time via meebo, but that's it.

even just a smile.

last night, i was driving down van ness and was stopped at a red light when i saw a homeless man in the middle of the street. he was jaunting in between cars smiling to all of the traffic-goers he passed. cradled in his hands was a sign that read "anything helps, even just a smile. =)". for some reason, i've always liked that type of panhandling sign. it doesn't contain some elaborate sob story or even a demand for money--just compassion. now i'm not one to give away money freely to random homeless people, but i just happened to have a pre-packaged shrimp louie salad that i was going to eat for dinner. i figured that he could probably use the food more than i could, so i forwent my own dinner and gave it to him. he thanked me kindly and said it had been a long time since he had had a good salad.

today, some of my wacko friends said that a lot of homeless people don't even want food. they just want money for whatever interesting habit they have picked up. i drove off quickly so i couldn't see what the guy did with the salad, but i'd be pretty pissed if i gave up my dinner to have it be thrown out, uneaten.

i need to move

some people love skylights. after all, they bring in refreshing natural light to rooms and areas which might otherwise be dark and gloomy. some people have never tried to sleep in late on a weekend with the bright sun shining on their face. others haven't heard had the opportunity to listen to every single raindrop hit the window and reverberate through the light well. i need to move.
