cursed liar!!

one of life's most difficult decisions has to be choosing a doughnut. whether it be cinnamon or boston cream, each and every doughnut has something good to offer. thus was the dilemma i faced not too long ago. with a large box of doughnuts in front of me, i had to choose but one to indulge myself with. unlike some doughnuts, these were the non-holed/filled variety, each with a little something peaking out of the center, suggesting of its contents. perhaps i should get one with cherry? or maybe lemon? as i laid eyes on the one doughnut, i just knew it had to be mine. it had a dollop of chocolate icing peeking out from the hole in the middle. excitedly i got a napkin and swooped it up. as i walked back to my cube, i stopped by some co-workers' cubes to chat a bit and show off my chocolate icing doughnut--my first ever! so after parading around my doughnut, i arrived at my desk to enjoy my newly gotten treat. the first bite into this doughnut didn't yield any chocolate icing. no big deal, a lot of times, the filling doesn't get properly distributed, so i took a second bite. again. no chocolate icing. and then a third. and a fourth. it turns out that the doughnut was a complete fraud. there was no chocolate icing inside it at all! there was just that small dollop on the surface, pretending as if there were more on the inside. never has the words "don't judge a book by its cover" ever rung so true.
