symphony hall

what's not to love about a night at symphony hall? especially when you're in one of the best seats in the house. even more so when you've snagged $54 seats for $10. how did i get such a deal? cheap tickets can be had by students. or persons in possession of a student ID. either, or. lucky for me, i qualified with the latter requirement.

phoenix's symphony hall is quite enjoyable. the four dollar rice krispy treats were a bit on the hard side, but the presentation was excellent. the performance itself, was of course quite good. the audience on the other hand... not so much. one could forgive the five year old little girl sitting next to me for humming along to the tunes she was familiar with. but the forty year old man behind me? and the couple next to me conversing during the performance was a bit of a downer--especially since they both seemed to be hard of hearing. all of that, plus poorly time applause (mistaking a pause for the end) made for much annoyance at the audience.

though i guess if they are paying five times as much as me, they can make their own rules.
