as we all know, person 'Y' works on new products at company 'I'. a few weeks ago, an external news source published that company 'I' had decided to cancel product 'W' from upcoming lineup to be replaced with product 'T'. this came as a surprise to person 'Y' and many of his colleages as they were still actively working on product 'W'. for the longest time, people at company 'I' had no idea whether to continue working on product 'W' or to focus on other prodcuts. how is it that the press gets wind of this stuff so far ahead of the people actually doing the work? so now that product 'W' has been shelved, person 'Y' and his cohorts are still waiting... and just now hearing rumors of a possible replacement (rumored to be product 'T').
