car trouble
i was driving down the street today when i noticed that i was low on gas. the needle was on the "E", indicating that i was literally out of gas. "no problemo" i figured, as there was a cheap gas station that i often frequented just about half a mile down the road. as i passed by another gas station, i thought to myself, "ha! $2.37 a gallon? that gas station is for suckers. i'll save 5~10 cents per gallon at the other gas station down the street."
while i was waiting at the next traffic light, a ton of console display lights such as: "engine oil", "check engine soon", and many other threatening lights reared their ugly heads as they flashed on. not really knowing what to do, i quickly shifted to neutral to take the load off then engine. then i gently pressed the gas to see how the engine was running. much to my surprise, the engine was no longer running! apparently it had stalled as the RPM needle was stuck at zero. after a few seconds of my mind completely blanking, i turned the key and thankfully the engine started back up again.
i mentally cursed myself as i was basically in between the two gas stations i knew about. luckily, i quickly spotted another gas station on the left. i pulled in to fill up at the same price as the other station: $2.37 a gallon.
having satiated my car's thirst, i went on my way. however, i did pass by the "cheap" gas station i had initially wanted to go to. and the price of gas there? a slick $2.37 per gallon.
